I do not have autism however I am headteacher at an independent school for young people with autism. My dissertation was on the CJS response to young people on the spectrum in a London Youth offending unit and my findings were crucial in establishing a more formal way that young offenders with autism are being treated, the act can only help and make clear to people what their entitlement is. It should be fair to those in Wales as well. |
